How Earning Five Pounds has Changed

Back in the eighties, there really were very limited forms of entertainment, in comparison with what is available today. We had terrestrial TV and the fourth channel only became available to us in this decade. Satellite TV and cable were quite new in the eighties and most people could only dream of owning such facilities.

But today, we really are spoilt for choice in how we are able to find our entertainment. Since most parts of the UK have now switched over to digital television, a lot of people upgraded to either cable of satellite TV and now have access to literally hundreds of different TV channels.

Then, of course, you have the massive impact of the internet. Numerous sites offer entertainment, like the Five Quid and there are even reviews of entertainment to help us to make a choice more easily.

This means that we can actually watch television and movies whilst on the move, instead of being restricted to the television in the front room, as was the case thirty years ago. Internet access has given way to iplayers and this looks likely to become even more popular in the future.

As more and more people are preferring to watch TV at a time that suits them, I do wonder if scheduled television may be a thing of the past? Perhaps the way forward here may be for the respective programme makers to just download their weekly schedule onto an accessible system, and then we watch them as and when we want.
